Butler Forward Roosevelt Jones Out for Season
(NEW YORK) -- The Butler men's basketball program was delivered a blow Friday when it was announced that junior forward Roosevelt Jones has torn ligaments in his left wrist and will miss the entire 2013-14 season.
Jones injured his wrist in a game during the team's recent trip to Australia.
"First and foremost, our thoughts are with Roosevelt," Butler head coach Brandon Miller said in a team release. "He has worked very hard to position himself to have a terrific junior year. Having said that, Roosevelt is a tough-minded, determined young man, and I am confident he will return from this adversity an even better player and person. Despite not playing, Roosevelt will continue to have an impact in leading this team as we move forward."
The 6-foot-4 Jones averaged 10.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists last season.
