Chris Andersen Stays with Miami Heat
(MIAMI) -- Reserve forward Chris Anderson resigned with the Miami Heat on Wednesday. The deal is for one year, worth approximately $1.7 million with a player option for a second year, according to ESPN.
“We are ecstatic that Chris Andersen has decided to stay with the Miami Heat,” said Heat president Pat Riley in a statement. “We would not have won the championship without him and we are looking forward to him having an even better season next year.”
Anderson joined the Heat as a free agent on January 20, where he averaged 4.9 points in 42 games. During Miami’s championship run, Anderson averaged 6.4 points in 20 playoff games.
“I’m excited to be back with the Heat,” said Andersen in a statement. “I believe we have an opportunity to repeat and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
