Cowboys Dominate Redskins 31-16
(ARLINGTON, Texas) -- The Dallas Cowboys showed why special teams can be special.
Cowboys return man Dwayne Harris had an 86-yard punt return touchdown and a 90-yard kickoff return that set up Tony Romo's only touchdown pass of the game, as the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Washington Redskins 31-16 Sunday night.
"Dwayne did a great job," Romo said. "He almost allowed us to sit over there as an offensive unit and rack up all of his yards as if we did it without doing much work. A great job by all special teams all the way around tonight."
The Redskins (1-4) accumulated 433 yards of total offense but were 0-for-3 in red zone attempts. Robert Griffin III completed 19 of 39 passes for 246 yards and an interception in the loss. Griffin also rushed for 77 yards.
"We're close on offense," Griffin said. "But close doesn't do it in this league. There's definitely a lot of positives for us coming out of it. We did move the ball effectively the majority of the game. We just got to punch it in when we get in the redzone and finish those drives."
The Cowboys (3-3) are now tied atop the NFC East with the Philadelphia Eagles.
