Dodgers Hammer Braves to Take 2-1 Series Lead
Scott Boehm Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers scored 13 runs on 14 hits as they hammered the Atlanta Braves 13-6 Sunday, to take a 2-1 lead in their NL Division Series.
The Braves started off the game well. Evan Gattis and Chris Johnson both had RBI singles in the first inning, giving the Braves an early 2-0 lead.
In the second inning, Dodgers starting pitcher Hin Jin Ryu hit a sacrifice fly and Carl Crawford smacked a three-run home run off Braves starter Julio Teheran to give the Dodgers a 4-2 lead. But the Braves answered in the third, scoring two to tie the game 4-4.
Then it was all Dodgers.
Los Angeles had a six-run fourth inning, that included a two-run Juan Uribe home run.
Hanley Ramirez continued his hot hitting going 3 for 4, scoring three runs, knocking in two and walking once in the win. Ramirez is hitting .538 for the series.
"He's incredible," Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez said of Ramirez. "His ability to hit is out of this world. He is the heart of our order and he's what gets us going. He's shown that this series for sure."
The Dodgers will attempt to close out the Braves Monday. The Braves send Freddy Garcia to the mound to square off against Ricky Nolasco.
