Eagles Name Michael Vick Starting Quarterback
(PHILADELPHIA) -- Eagles head coach Chip Kelly announced on Tuesday that Michael Vick will be the starting quarterback when Philadelphia kicks off the 2013 NFL season on Sept. 9, at Washington.
The 33-year-old Vick edged out second-year veteran Nick Foles with a solid training camp. In two pre-season games, he has tossed for 199 yards and has a quarterback rating of 113.2.
In 10 games with the Eagles last season, Vick passed for 2,362 yards with 12 touchdowns against 10 interceptions. He suffered a concussion in Week 10, and former head coach Andy Reid decided to let Foles play en route to a 4-12 record.
