Mitch Kupchak Says There's No Timetable for Kobe Bryant's Return

NBA via Los Angeles Lakers(EL SEGUNDO, Calif.) -- The start of training camp is right around the corner, but that doesn't mean the Los Angeles Lakers will be at full strength.

It is hard to determine the level of expectation for the Lakers this year, with Kobe Bryant still recovering from a torn left Achilles suffered near the end of last season.

"No real expectations," general manager Mitch Kupchak said Wednesday. "I do believe that [Bryant will] get back and he'll play this season. You won't be able to look at him and say that he's hurt."

It is unknown when the 35-year-old Bryant will return to the court for the Lakers.

"I don't have a timeline," Kupchak said. "I really don't."

Bryant is currently working out on an altered-gravity treadmill at 75 percent of his body weight.  He is scheduled to make $30.45 million this season.
