Nuggets' JaVale McGee Out Indefinitely with Stress Fracture in Foot

NBA via Denver Nuggets(NEW YORK) -- The Denver Nuggets tough start to the season has gotten even worse as they've learned that center JaVale McGee will be out indefinitely with a stress fracture in his lower left leg.

X-rays revealed that McGee suffered the stress fracture in his left tibia on Sunday. He had been dealing with soreness in his tibia all season.

Despite his immense talent, McGee has been relegated as a bench player during his time with the Nuggets. The 25-year-old McGee was averaging 7.0 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.

After winning 57 games last season and securing the third seed in the Western Conference, the Nuggets are off to a 1-4 start under first-year head coach, Brian Shaw.

Denver's offense has been middle of the pack so far this season, but their defense has been their biggest issue so far. The team is allowing 105.2 points per game, which is 26th in the NBA.

While McGee leaves the team to get healthy, Timofey Mozgov is expected to see an increase in minutes.
