Rams Wide Receiver Stedman Bailey Suspended 4 Games by the NFL
(EARTH CITY, Mo.) -- With almost four months until the start of the 2014 NFL regular season, the St. Louis Rams have already been dealt a blow to their offense as wide receiver Stedman Bailey has been suspended four games by the NFL for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing substances.
The team has confirmed the suspension, and Bailey will be eligible to return to the field after the Rams' game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 5.
"I see all the negative comments! Everyone makes mistakes, I guarantee I will bounce back. My promise to my fans & #RamsNation," Bailey tweeted on Monday.
Despite the suspension, Bailey can still participate in the team's offseason program, including preseason practices and games.
After serving a limited role in his rookie year this past season, Bailey was expected to see an increased role in the team's offense in 2014.
As a rookie, Bailey caught 17 passes for 226 yards in 2013.
