Titans Fear Quarterback Jake Locker Will Miss 4-8 Weeks

Andy Lyons/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Just when Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker looked to be coming into his own, the team fears he could miss 4-8 weeks with a hip injury.

Locker had to be carted off the field and taken to a hospital by ambulance on Sunday during the team's 38-13 win over the New York Jets.

During the third quarter, Locker took a hit from defensive tackle Muhammad Wilkerson and Quinton Coples. Locker laid on the ground before he needed assistance getting up.

Locker was facing a make-or-break season this year as some were wondering if he would ever live up to expectations.

Before getting hurt, Locker was completing 62.2% of his passes. He had also thrown six touchdowns without a single interception.

Former Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is expected to take over the Locker till however long he is out. Locker is expected to return at some point this season.

The Titans have been one of the most surprising teams in the NFL this season. At 3-1, they're tied for first place in the AFC South along with the Indianapolis Colts.
