A number of area 4-H youth recently made it to the American Royal Livestock National Competition in Kansas City, Missouri.

Kane Austin, Bradley Braddock, Justin Schaal and Robert Fulton of the Marion County 4-H Senior Livestock Judging Team were judging animals at the competition, held on November 1st.

Team Coach Steve Austin says the group did well. He says with the top three scores counted, they were only eight points from winning the contest. Austin says the group also did very well on the individual categories as well, judging everything from sheep to swine.

The team had been preparing for the event since September.
