The North Wamac School was recently presented 23-hundred dollars from Brook and Rich Such of Centralia, as part of the proceeds from the 3rd Annual Jana Babb Softball Tournament. The School Board conveyed their thanks for the donation at their most recent meeting. The funds will be used for sports team equipment.
The school board also heard updates on a number of health-related topics. The annual asbestos inspection showed no problems and the bleachers were also found to be in accordance with the law. The Clinton County Health Department will be administering H1-N1 vaccinations at the school from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, November 16th. The vaccinations will be available to those in priority groups. Permission forms have already been sent home with students.
Also on November 16th, a Biscuit and Gravy breakfast will be held for parents, guardians and grandparents of students. The breakfast will start at 8 a.m.
Meanwhile, the school board is expecting the tax levy of 4.99 percent to remain the same for the coming year. The board also voted to hire Rich Smelts to handle the Christmas Program with a budget of 15-hundred dollars. The December board meeting was rescheduled to prior the Christmas Program on December 14th at 6 p.m.
