 Richard Lee Boatright, age 71 of Sandoval, died November 19, 2009 at St. Mary's Good Samaritan hospital in Centralia. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, spending all his life in Sandoval and retiring as a metal assorter in 1994.
Funeral services for Richard Lee Boatright will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, November 23rd at the Boggs Chapel of the Styninger-Pacey Funeral Home in Centralia. Burial will follow in the Sandoval Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, November 22nd.  Mack Arthur Curtis, age 68, of Sandoval, passed away Saturday morning, November 14th, at his home in Sandoval. Curtis owned Mac Daddy's Music Store in Salem and had played background music for Conway Twitty and George Jones as well as with the Louisiana Hayride for Elvis Presley.
Funeral arrangements for Mack Arthur Curtis will be held Saturday, November 21, 11 a.m. in the Boggs Chapel of the Styninger-Pacey Funeral Home in Centralia. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A musical celebration of Mack's life will immediately follow the Memorial Service at the American Legion Hall in Centralia.  Howard Bundy, 96 years old, of Centralia, passed away on Sunday, November 8th at Centralia Manor in Centralia. He was an educator who started teaching in one and two room schools in Jefferson and Marion Counties, who later became Principal of Franklin School from 1944 to 1974 and helped organize the Kaskaskia Reading Council. He was also past Commander and a life member of the American Legion and past president and life member of the Marion County Retired Teachers Association.

 Robert Joy Rogers, age 88 of Mesa, Arizona - formerly of the Iuka and Odin area - passed away on November 3, 2009. He was a retired B.O. Telegrapher, Veteran of WWII and enjoyed playing and singing with the Howe Quartet.
Robert Rogers will be cremated, followed by burial at the National Veterans Cemetery in Cave Creek, Az. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Odin Baptist Church.
Rogers is survived by his wife of 68 years, Verdena; Sister in law: Gayla Faye Williams of New York; Two sons: Tom and wife Vicki of San Tan Valley, Az. and Bill and wife Wanda of Chandler, Az; Daughter: Merry Jo Adkins of Mesa, and a Son in Law Ernie Adkins. Steve Hanna leaves behind his little earthly angel, Brianna, age 11. She was the constant light of his life. He also leaves his older angel Stephanie Reid of Texas and four grandchildren: Hunter, Logan, Keenan and Saylor. Also surviving are his sister Jan of Lecanto, Florida, brother Richard of Rogers, Arkansas, nieces Dreama, Kimberly, Dea, Jana, Kissy, and Shiny and one nephew Rick. Lifelong friends Barney Craig, Allen Yates and Stanley Carroll have been beside him through all his battles and triumphs of life. Also serving him were his brothers and sisters in AA and in his final journey, the Angels of Hospice. |

 Helen Lucille Potter, age 84, of Odin, died Tuesday, October 20th, at her home in Centralia. She was retired from Littlefuse and had earlier worked for Hoyleton Children's Home and during World War II she had helped build B-27 Bombers.
Funeral services for Helen Lucille Potter will be held at ten Friday morning at the Garnier and Sons Funeral Home in Centralia. Burial in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation from six to eight Thursday night at the Garnier and Sons Funeral Home in Centralia. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and will be received at the funeral home.

 Irene Kozuszek, age 85, of Sandoval, died Wednesday, October 21st, at Friendship Manor in Nashville. She was a licensed Real Estate Agent and Licensed Cosmetologist, owned several businesses, retired from Wheaton Plastics in Centralia and then worked many years at the Children's Activity Center in Sandoval.
Celebration of Life Service for Irene Kozuszek will be held at 11:30 Friday from the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Sandoval. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in Sandoval. Visitation will be from eight until 11:15 Friday morning at the Day Funeral Home in Sandoval. A Rosary Prayer Service will be conducted at ten Friday morning during the visitation.

 Jack D. Gill Sr., age 71, of Salem passed away October 17th, 2009 at St. Louis University Hospital. Jack was a retired laborer.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning, October 22nd, at 10:30 at Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home in Salem. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 10:30 on the morning of October 22nd. Memorial: American Heart Association or the Lung Association.

 Raymond Telford, age 92 of Centralia, died Saturday, October 17, at Fireside House. He was retired form the Illinois Central Railroad, where he worked as a locomotive crane engineer.
Funeral services for Raymond Telford will be held at eleven Wednesday morning at the Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia. Friends may call from five to eight Tuesday evening and eight until eleven Wednesday morning at the funeral home. Memorial donations in his honor may be made to hospice or to the Humane Society. They will be received at the funeral home.
Survivors include son: Dwight Telford and wife Anita of O'Fallon, stepson: Steve Smith and wife Charlene of Centralia, grandson: Jeffrey Telford of O'Fallon, sister: Bonnie Jean Masor of Centralia, seven step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. |
